Lucknow International Airport Limited has inaugurated city bus operations from Terminal 3 of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on April 1, 2026.
The initiative strengthens urban transport connectivity for air travellers and airport personnel. It marks a significant advancement in integrating public mobility with airport infrastructure.
The service has been introduced in collaboration with Lucknow City Transport Services Limited. Authorities aim to provide secure, economical, and dependable transport options.
The move also seeks to encourage public transit usage and ease vehicular congestion across the city.
Senior officials flagged off the buses in a formal ceremony. Amar Nath Sahay, Managing Director of LCTSL, and Darshan Singh, Chief Airport Officer of CCSIA, led the launch in the presence of key representatives from both organisations.
A spokesperson for the airport stated that the initiative reflects a joint commitment to improving passenger convenience.
It also promotes sustainable and environmentally responsible transport solutions while enhancing overall urban mobility.
The newly introduced bus services will operate on two primary routes. The first route connects CCSIA to Hazratganj via Charbagh, a major commercial and transit hub.
The second route links the airport to Awadh Bus Station in Kamta through Shaheed Path, ensuring access to key residential and transport zones.
These routes have been strategically planned to connect the airport with prominent commercial districts, residential areas, and major transit points.
This structured approach ensures efficient last-mile connectivity and a smoother travel experience for commuters.
Lucknow International Airport Limited operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited.
It manages the operations, development, and modernisation of CCSIA under a 50-year concession agreement with the Airports Authority of India. The company commenced commercial operations on November 2, 2020.
The airport has implemented multiple passenger-centric technologies. These include Digi Yatra, e-gates, 2D scanners, automatic tray retrieval systems, self-baggage drop facilities, automatic number plate recognition, and FASTag-enabled payments.
These measures continue to elevate operational efficiency and passenger convenience.
