A bus accident in Madhya Pradesh's Agar Malwa district left one person dead and 15 others injured. The vehicle overturned after the driver reportedly lost control, police said.
The accident took place near Badagaon when the bus, travelling from Susner to Kurawar, reportedly went out of control and overturned.
According to police officials, the vehicle struck a 55-year-old man walking along the roadside with his buffalo as it veered off course.
The victim, identified as Gokul Singh, died at the scene. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
More than 15 passengers sustained injuries, several of them serious.
The injured were initially taken to a local health facility before being shifted to Nalkheda Community Hospital for treatment. Those in critical condition were later referred to the district hospital in Agar Malwa for specialised care.
Preliminary information suggests that the bus was carrying around 30 passengers at the time of the incident.
The sudden loss of control caused the vehicle to overturn, throwing some passengers and triggering panic.
Residents were among the first to respond and helped rescue those trapped inside the damaged bus. They also assisted the injured before emergency services arrived.
Medical officials said several victims are under close observation due to serious injuries, including trauma and internal damage.
Police have registered a case and begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Initial findings indicate that factors such as mechanical failure, driver error, or road conditions may have contributed, though no official conclusion has been reached.
The vehicle has been seized for examination, and statements from survivors and witnesses are being recorded as part of the ongoing probe.
