Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone for the Lata-Asha Mangeshkar Institute in Pune. The project marks a major step in expanding healthcare infrastructure.
He reaffirmed state support for charitable organisations and said the upcoming Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation hospital will offer advanced facilities.
CM Devendra Fadnavis said the municipal corporation will provide road connectivity and water supply. He added that the government is considering lower premium charges for charitable institutions.
CM Fadnavis emphasised that affordable, high-quality healthcare remains essential and praised the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital for setting a standard in service-oriented care.
Fadnavis paid tribute to Asha Bhosle, highlighting her resilience and lifelong contribution to the nation, and described the project as an extension of the family's legacy in music and philanthropy.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the institute will provide compassionate care. He suggested using music therapy with the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
Eknath Shinde said the initiative would significantly benefit patients and symbolise cultural pride.
Mohan Bhagwat underscored the importance of accessible and affordable healthcare, stating that integrated medical services under one roof will ease patient burdens.
Trustee Dhananjay Kelkar said the 40-acre project will include a cancer centre and a rehabilitation hub. He added that it will rank among the country's largest medical facilities.
The initiative reflects a broader push towards inclusive, high-quality healthcare delivery.
