Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly constructed terminal building at Jodhpur Airport on Saturday, marking the start of his two-state development tour.

He also introduced a revised aviation scheme before proceeding with a series of high-value infrastructure initiatives.

The Prime Minister will later travel to Balotra to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth around ₹1.06 lakh crore. He will also address a public meeting to highlight the government's development agenda.

At the inauguration of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) refinery in Pachpadra, PM Modi will formally launch the Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project.

The ₹13,037-crore initiative will establish a 41-kilometre North-South metro corridor linking Prahladpura with Todi Mod.

The upcoming corridor will include 36 stations and provide improved access to key residential, commercial and industrial areas, including Sitapura Industrial Area, Vishwakarma Industrial Area, Jaipur International Airport, Jaipur Railway Station, Tonk Road, Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Ambabari and Vidyadhar Nagar.

Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a joint venture between the Union and Rajasthan governments, will implement the project.

Following his Rajasthan engagements, the Prime Minister will travel to Sanand in Gujarat to inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) plant.

The India Semiconductor Mission approved the CG Semi OSAT facility as one of its first semiconductor projects, with an investment of more than ₹7,500 crore.

The plant will offer integrated semiconductor assembly and testing capabilities, including wafer sorting, package design, product testing, failure analysis, programme development, product characterisation and logistics services.

The launch of commercial operations is expected to strengthen India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and support the country's growing electronics sector.
