Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the wildlife corridor on the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in Saharanpur on Tuesday, assessing progress on a major infrastructure project designed to balance development with environmental protection.

Union Minister for Highways and Transport Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak accompanied him during the review.

Officials briefed the Prime Minister, and an exhibition showcased technical details of the wildlife corridor construction.

Earlier, PM Modi held a roadshow along the wildlife corridor section of the expressway, where large crowds gathered to greet him.

Supporters waved the Tricolour, showered flowers, and raised slogans such as 'Modi, Modi', 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', and 'Jai Shri Ram'.

Many participants wore traditional attire and performed folk dances, creating a festive atmosphere.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will perform darshan and pooja at the Jai Maa Daat Kali Temple before inaugurating the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor at a public event in Dehradun and addressing a large gathering.

The 213-kilometre, six-lane access-controlled corridor has been built at a cost of over ₹12,000 crore and connects Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. It reduces travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from over six hours to about two and a half hours.

The project includes 10 interchanges, three Railway Over Bridges, four major bridges, and 12 wayside amenities for smooth travel.

It also features an Advanced Traffic Management System for safer movement. For wildlife protection, it has a 12-kilometre elevated stretch, animal passes, elephant underpasses, and a tunnel near the Daat Kali temple.

Officials said it will boost trade, tourism, and jobs, reflecting PM Narendra Modi's vision of modern, safe, and sustainable infrastructure.
