Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared photographs of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of its inauguration, highlighting its importance for enhancing regional connectivity.
In a message, he described the project as a major boost for the National Capital Region.
The airport, a key infrastructure project for Uttar Pradesh, stands fully prepared for its inauguration scheduled on Saturday.
Officials confirmed that the Prime Minister will arrive around noon to formally inaugurate the facility and further address a large public gathering.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will review final preparations to ensure all arrangements are in place for the high-profile event.
Authorities have implemented extensive security measures, dividing the area into multiple zones and deploying police and paramilitary personnel. They have also intensified surveillance to maintain safety.
To manage the expected crowd, officials have introduced a comprehensive traffic plan. They will also enforce restrictions on goods vehicles on the Yamuna Expressway and Noida Expressway from early morning and divert traffic to ensure smooth movement and minimise disruption.
The Jewar airport, expected to become one of Asia's largest aviation hubs, marks a significant milestone for the state's infrastructure development. It will improve connectivity, attract investments, and accelerate economic growth across Uttar Pradesh and northern India.
Authorities have advised commuters to follow traffic guidelines and avoid unnecessary travel during the restricted period.
