Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the 'Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan' on Sunday through video conferencing, marking the beginning of a nationwide movement aimed at inspiring young people to play an active role in building a drug-free India.
MY Bharat youth volunteers will lead the Jan Bhagidari (people's participation) campaign, mobilising young people across the country to fight substance abuse.
The initiative will advance the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat while supporting the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The initiative underscores the government's belief that empowered youth can play a pivotal role in creating a healthier and more responsible society.
Following the Prime Minister's address, activities will commence simultaneously at nearly 10,000 locations across the country, with more than one crore (10 million) young people expected to take a national pledge against substance abuse.
The campaign aims to become a sustained nationwide movement through active public participation.
Every Sunday, organisers will conduct sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programmes, awareness drives, street plays, discussions and art competitions to promote a drug-free India.
They will honour outstanding volunteers and organisations at the 50th, 75th and 100th weeks to encourage continued participation.
The initiative advances PM Modi's vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and supports the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, carrying the message that 'drug-free youth are the greatest strength of Viksit Bharat'.
