Speaking at the event, Prof (Dr) Rachna reflected on her journey as a student nearly three decades ago, crediting the institution for shaping her confidence and professional path. She stressed that employment should not be limited to conventional jobs, noting that livelihoods also include fields such as farming and craftsmanship.
Prof (Dr) Rachna said the National Education Policy encourages entrepreneurship and self-reliance rather than traditional job-seeking. She highlighted the role of incubation centres at premier institutes in supporting student-led startups and innovation.
In addition, she added that such initiatives are crucial for building a future-ready workforce aligned with the country's long-term development goals.
Addressing challenges in the education system, Prof (Dr) Rachna underscored the need for passionate educators. She called for structured teacher training programmes aligned with evolving policy frameworks.
Additionally, she also referred to parental concerns regarding the three-language formula and urged a balanced and thoughtful implementation.
The conference brought together policymakers, academicians and thought leaders to discuss innovation, educational transformation and sustainable development as key drivers of India's growth.
