Actor Shahid Kapoor has officially begun shooting for the second season of the crime thriller series Farzi. The actor shared the update on social media, putting an end to months of anticipation among fans.
Kapoor posted a black-and-white photograph with the show's creators and wrote that the shoot for Farzi 2 had begun with the message indicating the first day of filming.
Ever since the first season of Farzi premiered in 2023, viewers have been eagerly waiting for the continuation of the story. The series quickly gained popularity for its gripping storyline and strong performances.
Earlier in February, Kapoor had already confirmed the return of the series through a social media post featuring the show's creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., popularly known as Raj & DK.
The creators also confirmed that the second season was in development. Raj & DK shared a post on their official social media account showing piled-up currency notes with a caption indicating that the second round of the series was underway.
The show is created, produced, and directed by Raj & DK, who also contributed to the writing along with Sita Menon and Suman Kumar.
The series features a prominent ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar in key roles.
The eight-episode first season premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 10, 2023. It follows the journey of Sunny, a small-time con artist played by Kapoor, who becomes entangled in the dangerous world of crime while attempting to execute a perfect con.
Apart from Farzi 2, Kapoor will also appear in the Cocktail sequel titled Cocktail 2. The upcoming film will feature him alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
The film will be directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.
