Amazon MX Player on Tuesday released the trailer of its upcoming survival thriller Vimal Khanna, featuring Sunny Hinduja in the lead role.
Adapted from The Vimal Series by acclaimed pulp fiction writer Surender Mohan Pathak, the series also stars Isha Talwar and Tara Alisha Berry in pivotal roles.
The story follows Vimal, a man who is wrongfully accused and stripped of his identity, forcing him into a relentless fight for survival against a system determined to destroy him. As he attempts to prove his innocence, he becomes trapped in a dangerous web of betrayal, deception and constant pursuit.
Speaking about the series, Sunny Hinduja described the project as an immersive experience and said the character stood out because of his emotional conflict and resilience under pressure.
He said, "Working on Vimal Khanna with Amazon MX Player has been an immersive experience. Vimal is not a conventional hero; he's an ordinary man pushed into extraordinary circumstances, where survival becomes instinct."
"What drew me to the character is his internal conflict, the constant struggle between holding on to his identity and adapting to a system that's working against him. There's a saying, 'Ye Alag Mitti Ka Bana Hai,' which is apt for Vimal and his journey, and is what makes him both vulnerable and powerful," he added.
Author Surender Mohan Pathak said the character of Vimal Khanna has resonated with readers for years because of his struggle with identity and adversity. He expressed excitement over seeing the story adapted for screen audiences through Amazon MX Player.
The series is scheduled to stream for free from May 15 across mobile devices, Connected TVs, Prime Video, Fire TV, JioTV and Airtel Xstream.
