Feature to reach existing 2025 scooters through software update
It works at speeds as low as 10 kmph
Ather has introduced its cruise control on the 450X through an over-the-air (OTA) software update. The feature will be available on all Ather 450X scooters sold from January 1, 2025. The update will be communicated to riders through a notification on the scooter's TFT console.
How It Works
The cruise control system that Ather calls 'Infinite Cruise' can be used from as low as 10kmph, going up to 90kmph. Unlike conventional cruise control, this does not disengage when the rider brakes or accelerates. The set speed is adjusted automatically after any input - it stays at the speed it was last left at by the rider. The feature was already introduced with the 2025 Ather 450 Apex last year.
Good News For Existing Owners
Ather said the feature will be rolled out to over 44,000 450X electric scooters sold from January 1, 2025 onwards. The company said this was enabled by hardware already present in the 2025 model range.
Here is how the Ather 450X competes with the newly launched Simple One Gen 2 in terms of specifications.
