Bajaj Pulsar NS160 BS6 Launched, Priced Above Rs 1 Lakh Now
The 160cc motorcycle gets a more powerful, fuel-injected motor
- The NS160 BS6 costs Rs 9,203 more than its BS4 predecessor.
- Its updated fuel-injected motor makes 1.7PS more power.
- The new motorcycle's weight and wheelbase have increased.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 BS6 has been launched at Rs 1,03,398 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It now commands a Rs 9,203 premium over its BS4 predecessor. The significant price hike comes courtesy of a new fuel-injection system. Other than that, the Pulsar NS160 BS6 remains virtually unchanged.
The addition of fuel-injection not only helps the NS160 clear BS6 emission norms but also make more power. The BS6-compliant 160.3cc air- and oil-cooled motor now delivers 17.2PS at 9,000rpm and 14.6Nm at 7250rpm. Power is up by 1.7PS. Peak torque remains the same but comes at a higher rpm. For reference, the BS4 Pulsar NS160 made 15.5PS at 8500rpm and 14.6Nm at 6500rpm. The Pulsar NS160 BS6 continues to use a 5-speed gearbox.
Bajaj has left the Pulsar NS160 BS6 cosmetically untouched. It comes in the same 3 two-tone paint schemes: Fossil Grey, Wild Red and Saffire Blue. It continues to use the same halogen headlamp, LED tail lamp, LED turn indicators and semi-digital instrument console.
Mechanically, the Pulsar NS160 BS6 remains unchanged as well. It continues to use a perimeter frame and suspension consisting of telescopic forks and gas-charged monoshock. Braking hardware includes a 260mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc with single-channel ABS. Dimensionally, the Pulsar NS160 BS6 remains the same except for the 1372mm wheelbase that has increased by 2mm and 151kg kerb weight which is up by 3kg.
