BREAKING: 2026 Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Launched; Priced At Rs 1.30 Lakh

Quick News Highlights:

  • Remains mechanically unchanged as before

  • Now costs Rs 4,201 more

Bajaj has brought back the Avenger 220 Street to the Indian market after being discontinued for a while.

The urban-styled cruiser has been priced at Rs 1,30,172 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while its touring-focused sibling, the Avenger 220 Cruise, also cost the same.

The return of the Avenger 220 Street gives buyers another option in Bajaj's cruiser lineup, especially for those who prefer a more sporty design over the chrome-heavy styling of the Cruise variant.

What's New?

Well, not much has changed, except for the price tag.

The last time the Avenger 220 Street was on sale in India, it was priced at Rs 1,25,965 (ex-showroom, Delhi). At Rs 1,30,172, the motorcycle now costs Rs 4,207 more than before.

Apart from the revised pricing and its return to the brand's portfolio, the motorcycle remains largely identical to the model that was discontinued.

What's Unchanged?

The Avenger 220 Street retains the same low-slung cruiser design that made it popular among riders looking for a comfortable and easy-going motorcycle. It continues to feature blacked-out styling elements, alloy wheels and a minimalist look that gives it a slightly sportier appeal than the Avenger 220 Cruise.

Features remain unchanged as well. The bike gets a basic LCD instrument console, halogen lighting and a simple switchgear setup.

Powering the motorcycle is the same 220cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 19PS at 8,500rpm and 17.6Nm at 7,000rpm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The underpinnings are also carried over unchanged. The Avenger 220 Street continues to use a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers, while braking duties are handled by a front disc and rear drum brake setup with single-channel ABS.

BikeDekho Says

The return of the Avenger 220 Street is great news for enthusiasts looking for a slightly sportier-looking cruiser that remains affordable, comfortable and capable of handling highway duties with ease. However, if Bajaj was bringing the motorcycle back after such a long break, a few meaningful updates would have been welcome.

Features such as dual-channel ABS, a more modern instrument console with smartphone connectivity and all-LED lighting could have helped the bike feel more competitive in today's market.

The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street does not have any natural rivals. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the next most affordable cruiser.
