Turns out, the Xpulse 210 is a true mileage 'Hero'!
I recently put the Hero Xpulse 210 through a proper highway mileage test, and the results turned out to be quite impressive!
To keep things consistent and accurate, I followed the full-tank method, that is, filling the tank to the brim before setting off and topping it up again after completing the ride. This way, the fuel consumed over the entire journey could be measured precisely.
Test Route & Riding Conditions
The ride included a round trip from the outskirts of Pune to Satara, covering close to 160km. This stretch offers a healthy mix of long highway straights, a few flowing corners, and light traffic in patches, making it ideal for simulating real-world touring conditions.
For the most part, speeds were maintained at around 100kmph. Throttle inputs were kept smooth and consistent, and braking was minimal to mimic a relaxed highway cruise.
Real World Mileage
At the end of the test, the Xpulse 210 required 4.80 litres of fuel to brim the tank again. Based on the distance covered, this translates to a real-world fuel efficiency of 33.97kmpl.
That's a solid number, especially considering the bike was cruising at a steady highway pace. With its relatively small 13-litre fuel tank, the Xpulse 210 can deliver a real-world range of over 400km on a full tank under similar riding conditions, which is quite a lot.
What You Can Expect
If you tone things down slightly and cruise between 80-90kmph, the Hero bike should easily return over 35kmpl, which is quite impressive for a small yet punchy 210cc engine.
As always, factors like traffic conditions, terrain, wind resistance, and riding style will affect the final numbers. But even then, the Xpulse manages to strike a strong balance between efficiency and performance for everyday riding as well as touring.
BikeDekho Says
A real-world mileage figure of 33.97kmpl makes the Hero Xpulse 210 a very efficient ADV, especially at highway speeds. More importantly, it marks a noticeable step up from the older Xpulse 200 4V in terms of highway cruising ability.
All said and done, the Xpulse 210 feels like a much more well-rounded motorcycle now, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a do-it-all, one-bike garage at an affordable price.
All said and done, Xpulse is not the only bike we tested for real-world mileage. We alsotested the KTM 390 Adventure X on the same routeand theRoyal Enfield Himalayan 450, which impressed us quite a bit.
