Top 5 Best Selling Bikes In February 2020: Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bajaj Pulsar, Hero Splendor And More
These bikes were people's favourites in February 2020!
The two-wheeler sales data of February 2020 has been revealed and Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Honda, and Royal Enfield have taken the top honours. Let's take a look at the five motorcycles that topped the sales charts in February:
5. Royal Enfield Classic 350:
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 tallied 41,766 units in February, a 10 per cent increase from the same month last year. That's pretty commendable considering its sales were on a downward spiral for quite a few months. One of the reasons could be the launch of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 back in January 2020. Recently, Royal Enfield announced that it is the first brand to clear out all its BS4 inventory well before the April 1 BS6 deadline. That said, it is uncertain whether the industry will graduate to BS6 emission compliance by April amid the coronavirus epidemic.
4. Honda CB Shine:
The Honda CB Shine has been the best selling 125cc motorcycle for years now. However, this year, the baseline number has gone down considerably as the bike tallied only 50,825 units in February 2020 against 86,355 units in the same month the previous year. Despite the drop in numbers, it is still the best selling 125cc commuter motorcycle, with the Hero Glamour trailing at 35,752 units.
3. Bajaj Pulsar range:
The Bajaj Pulsar range has long been synonymous with performance-oriented motorcycles. Not surprising then, it has clinched the third spot in the list. It recorded 75,669 units in total. This includes the Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon, Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180F Neon, Pulsar NS200, and the Pulsar 220F. In fact, the Pulsar was the third highest selling motorcycle range in January too. If you're looking at individual numbers, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 has racked the most at 49,841 units. Compared to the same month last year, the sales have gone down by 22 per cent. Despite that, it is still the highest selling 150cc motorcycle in the country.
2. Hero HF Deluxe:
The Hero HF Deluxe might look unassuming but this motorcycle has been a trusty choice for many customers who want a no-nonsense runabout with slightly more youthful looks than the conservative-looking Hero Splendor. Hero MotoCorp sold 1,75,997 units, just 5 per cent less than the same period last year. Interestingly, the Hero HF Deluxe beat the Splendor in January 2020 by 2,246 units, becoming the highest selling motorcycle in India, albeit briefly.
1. Hero Splendor:
The Hero Splendor family has been the best selling motorcycle in India for a long time now. It tallied 2,15,196 units, which includes both the 100/110cc range and the 125cc Super Splendor. The 100cc and 110cc Splendor range have tallied 1,84,502 units in total, a 24 per cent drop, year on year.
The venerable Hero Splendor range has become a common name for those seeking a hassle-free, fuel-efficient motorcycle. However, it has lost the 'Best-selling two-wheeler of India' title to the Honda Activa range, which sold 2,22,961 units in February 2020.
