Apart from the price cut, this Yamaha bike remains unchanged. There are no changes to the engine, features or design, the last update was new colours for the R15, launched in September 2025.

Yamaha R15 V4

The Yamaha R15 V4 is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) that makes 18.4PS and 14.2Nm. VVA helps in ensuring a balance between low-end grunt and top-end drive. The Yamaha R15 is well-known for its performance and excellent handling, making this track-friendly a great machine to learn and improve riding skills.

The riding posture is aggressive, so it may not be suitable for those looking for a laidback riding experience. If you're one of them, then you may look at the retro Yamaha XSR 155. But if you're a fan of Yamaha faired bikes, then you'd be glad to know that the brand might launch the Yamaha R2 soon, as trademark filings have surfaced online.
