Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday, April 12, at the age of 92. With her demise, an era in Indian music has come to an end, leaving the film and music industry in deep shock.
She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on the night of April 11.
A Musical Journey That Began at Age 9
Asha Bhosle began singing at the young age of 9. Over her long and illustrious career, she recorded thousands of songs and earned global recognition. Her name was recorded twice in the Guinness Book of World Records, and she also became the first Indian singer to receive a Grammy Award nomination.
A. R. Rahman Pays Heartfelt Tribute
Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman visited to pay his last respects to Asha Bhosle. The duo delivered several iconic hits in the 1990s and 2000s, including Radha Kaise Na Jale, Mujhe Rang De, Tanha Tanha, and Rangeela Re. Their collaboration began with the film Rangeela, which turned out to be a major musical success.
Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi Offer Support
Lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, along with his wife Shabana Azmi, visited the Bhosle family to offer condolences. They paid tribute to Asha Bhosle during this difficult time.

Several prominent figures from the film industry arrived to bid farewell to Asha Bhosle. Actress Vidya Balan was seen outside the residence, visibly emotional. Urmila Matondkar also paid her respects with tearful eyes.
