He alleged that the film's purpose was to create division in society, which has further intensified the political and social debate surrounding it.

In fact, Congress official X posted on behalf of Rahul Gandhi. It read, "No one is actually watching 'The Kerala Story.' This shows that most people in this country understand what Kerala is and appreciate its traditions and culture. Films, TV, and the media have been weaponized. They are being used specifically to defame people, isolate communities, and create divisions in society, benefiting some groups and harming others."

Continuing his point, Rahul Gandhi further wrote, "If someone wants to make a certain kind of film, say something in the media, or defend a particular idea, they are attacked and often not allowed to speak. I experience this all the time. On the other hand, some stories can be spread as much as they want and nothing happens to them."
