Vikrant Massey was born on April 3, 1987, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. His family belongs to the Christian Punjabi community.His father, Jolly, is a Christian, and his mother, Meena, is a Sikh. His elder brother, Mohsin, converted to Islam at a young age. It's said that Vikrant's parents' love story is quite filmy. They both liked each other since childhood. When their families objected to their different religions, they eloped and got married. His wife, however, is Hindu. In an interview, Vikrant stated that there's a temple in his house. Despite being a Christian, his father has visited the Vaishno Mata Temple six times.

Vikrant attended St. Anthony's High School in Mumbai and then R.D. National College in Mumbai.From childhood, Vikrant was passionate about dance and acting. When the family's financial situation worsened, he worked in a coffee shop

Vikrant Massey's family's financial situation was poor. He spent his childhood in poverty. When his father's salary arrived, everything was fine for the first 15 days of the month, but after the 16th, it was difficult to make ends meet. Seeing the family's difficulties, Vikrant began learning and teaching dance while still an undergraduate. After waking up in the morning, he would go to Shiamak Davar's dance class to teach children. Furthermore, he also worked at a coffee shop in Versova, Mumbai.

Got his first acting break outside the washroom, earned Rs 24,000

At the age of 16, Vikrant Massey received an offer for a serial. He quit his job at Shiamak Davar's, where he worked for two years, but the TV show never aired. However, fate opened other doors for him. Once, while he was standing in line for the bathroom, a woman approached him, asked him about acting, and invited him to her office.

Vikrant accepted the offer. This led to his landing the TV show "Dhoom Machao Dhoom." He was paid 6,000 rupees per episode. The actor earned 24,000 rupees for four episodes. Vikrant subsequentlyappeared in shows like "Dharam Veer," "Qubool Hai," "Baba Aiso Var Dhoondo," and"Balika Vadhu ."

When his savings ran out, he would borrow money from his wife to audition.

Vikrant revealed in an interview that there was a time in his life when he had exhausted all his savings auditioning for films. At that time, his girlfriend, Sheetal (now his wife), would give him pocket money. Regarding Vikrant and Sheetal's love story, Vikrant revealed in an interview that he met Sheetal through a friend in Mumbai. Interestingly, Vikrant's friend also had a deep love for Sheetal and wanted Vikrant to help them meet. However, after a couple of meetings, Vikrant grew fond of Sheetal. He proposed to her on their third date. They married in 2022. In 2024, they had a son, Vardaan.

Entry into Bollywood

After achieving success on TV, Vikrant turned to Bollywood. In 2013, he made his Bollywood debut with the film "Lootera." In this film, Vikrant played Ranveer Singh's friend, which received praise from audiences and critics. He then played supporting roles in films like "Dil Dhadakne Do" (2015), "Half Girlfriend" (2017), and "Lipstick Under My Burkha" (2017). However, he gained real recognition with the 2017 film "A Death in the Gunj," in which he played the lead role.
