The trailer claims that this is one of the scariest and most horrifying horror films ever made. The movie is also the last film of late actor Mukul Dev. During the shoot of this film, he fell ill and returned home, after which he passed away. Mukul left the world untimely a year ago. On his first death anniversary (May 22, 2026), the film is being released as a tribute to him.

Writer-director Sanjay Niranjan's film '3rd Eye - Teesri Aankh' was originally scheduled to hit theatres on August 31, 2025, but was later postponed to May 22, 2026. There is an emotional story behind this delay.

Sanjay Niranjan revealed that he received a call from the Bhatt Camp requesting him to postpone the release. He said, 'Honestly, I hadn't even thought about Mukul's death anniversary. Even when we spoke to Mukul's family, they did not suggest anything like this.'

He further added, 'Later, we came to know that since Mukul Dev was discovered by the Bhatt Camp and shared a very affectionate bond with Mahesh Bhatt, they wanted to do something in his memory. Since Mukul did his final shoot for my film, I felt it was my responsibility to pay tribute to him. Delaying the film a little and releasing it on his remembrance day felt like a final salute to an artist.'

It is worth mentioning that Mukul Dev's debut film was Dastak, produced by Mahesh Bhatt's production house. The film also introduced Sushmita Sen after her Miss Universe win, and it was directed by Vikram Bhatt.

'3rd Eye - Teesri Aankh' is Mukul Dev's final film, a horror movie in which he plays the role of a church priest. The suggestion to delay the release as a tribute to Mukul Dev on his first death anniversary came from the Bhatt Camp, and Sanjay Niranjan gladly accepted it.
