Beauty in Black is an upcoming drama series created for Netflix by Tyler Perry and follows the story of Kimmie, a young woman trying to escape a life of using her body to make money as a stripper or possible sex trafficking victim.
While on her quest to break free, Kimmie finds herself caught up in the crisis of the Bellarie family, the family representing the most influential and powerful company in the hair industry and cosmetics market. The Bellarie family has been very involved in Kimmie's struggle against them - Kimmie's past and present are intertwined with the Bellarie family and companies through their power struggles, family drama, conspiracy, sex (often in a violent way), and revenge.
In December of 2025, after only the first part of the second season was released, Netflix announced that Beauty In Black would be renewed for a third and final season. Netflix stated that Season Three of Beauty In Black would be the epic finale to "Kimmie's incredible journey with the Bellarie family."
Beauty in Black Season 3: Release date rumours
There is no exact official release date for the show.
Season 3 has already finished filming (wrapped before or around early 2026).
Tyler Perry said in March 2026 that it "will come out in next year" which leads to speculation of the show airing in 2027. This information was different from earlier speculation of the show coming out late 2026 (fall, around September/October) as part of a previous trend.
Part 2 of Season 2 debuted on March 19, 2026 (following the debut of Part 1 in late 2025). This follows the precedent of previous seasons being divided into two or more parts., and is expected to be available on Netflix as one part or having fewer episodes than its first two seasons.
Beauty in Black Season 3: Returning cast
The full cast list for Season 3 hasn't been officially confirmed, but the core ensemble is expected to return for the finale:

Beauty in Black Season 3: Plot details
There is little available about the specific plot for Season 3, as it is still being finalized. The conclusion of the story began with the conclusion of Season 2's finale, where the bellaries had their offices raided by the FBI, which raised the stakes for them, and they will be potentially facing jail time and changing power dynamics. Kimmie is no longer in survival mode but is in the game now and is the head of the table as the Chief Operating Officer of the Beauty in Black Empire.
The following are teases - Kimmie "will fully step into her power with as much support as possible from her family", but will she stay there as the tension of the show increases, and the drama and power struggles intensify?
The bellaries will experience increasing consequences and will push the limits of the character's abilities.
Tyler Perry's production schedule has reportedly only lasted six days for the entire season of 6-8 episodes, which is a much quicker rate than he produced the 12 16 episodes of Season 2.
