Dandadan Season 3: Release updates, cast news and story details - Everything we know so far

Business Upturn 3 weeks ago

Dandadan (also stylized as DAN DA DAN) Season 3 has been officially greenlit and is being produced at Science SARU.

The first two seasons had a much shorter timeframe between air dates; however, since there were so many more timelines/scenes to cover in Season 3 and due to production being restricted by SCIENCE SARU's busy production schedule, they are likely taking longer to produce this new season than they did with the two prior seasons and, therefore, they are producing the third season much further apart.

The first news regarding Season 3 of DANDADAN was made shortly after the Season 2 finale when we were teased via social media; then we received a full confirmation about the upcoming third season after that teaser.

Dandadan Season 3: Release updates

There is a confirmation-including the 2027 broadcast window and a brand new key visual (that was released on December 21, 2025) at Jump Festa 2026. At this time, there is no scheduled premiere date (i.e., season or month) or episode count associated with the television series. There has been speculation related to Spring/Summer 2027; however, nothing is confirmed at this time. International streaming information (that it returns to either Netflix and/or Crunchyroll, as previous seasons did) is still pending.

Dandadan Season 3: Cast news

The main Japanese voice cast is expected to fully return, as confirmed in announcements and reports around the Jump Festa reveal. Key roles include:

  • Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
  • Natsuki Hanae as Ken "Okarun" Takakura
  • Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny
  • Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase
  • Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Jin "Jiji" Enjoji

And others like Hiroyuki Yoshino (Manjiro), Daichi Fujiwara (Kinta), plus supporting voices such as Mutsumi Tamura (Evil Eye) and more.

English dub actors (e.g., Abby Trott as Momo, A.J. Beckles as Okarun) are also widely expected to reprise their roles, though no formal confirmation has dropped yet. No major new cast additions have been announced.

Dandadan Season 3: Story details

The ending of Season 2 concluded around Chapter 71 of the manga, with the Kaiju Arc ending on a cliffhanger. The start of Season 3 is set to begin with the remainder of the Kaiju Arc, before heading straight into the Space Globalists Arc, which covers chapters 74 to 120 and is one of the biggest segments in the entire series.

This arc will expand to a much larger universe than previous arcs; not only does it deal with alien threats (such as the Serpo and Kur factions), but it also introduces or develops various characters (like Vamola, the girl who wears the kaiju costume in outer space), and will continue to blend the series' unique combination of supernatural yokai fighting, extreme action, ritualistic occurrences, and emotional/chaotic interactions between characters. Season 3 will give viewers the opportunity to see more epic fight scenes, demonstrate more emotional connections between friendships and families (with particular emphasis on the dynamic between Momo and Okarun), and continue to develop the "globalist" invasion storyline that has been hinted at throughout previous storylines.

The manga by Yukinobu Tatsu (which is still on-going) has a lot of story to tell, so there'll be a lot more source material to draw from. A new key visual released with the announcement features Momo, Okarun and Turbo Granny (in stuffed-doll form) which will provide fans with a glimpse into the blend of high-stakes chaos and humor that is to come.
