As of the month of April in the year of 2026, there has been no announcement from Netflix or the production team regarding the renewal of either Weak Hero Class 3 or any future seasons.
Following the premiere of Weak Hero Class 1 in 2022 on Wavve, the second season premiered on Netflix globally on April 25th 2025. Weak Hero Class 2 quickly rose to become one of Netflix's highest-rated non-English shows worldwide and did exceptionally well in South Korea. With the strong viewership numbers and the post-credits teaser hinting at future conflict, this leaves open the likelihood that Weak Hero could receive an additional season(s).
Weak Hero Class 3: Release date rumors
There's currently no official date given as to when the new season will be available. However, reliable sources have stated that if it is renewed then their production schedule would follow what we saw with season 1 in that they are expected to start filming in the first half of the new year after making the announcement. This means that unless something changes, realistically speaking we should expect the new season sometime between late 2026 and early/mid 2027 depending on actors' schedules, filming (which takes a few months), post-production, etc.
There have been several fan created sites, YouTube videos (many of which like to speculate on when the new season might air), and social media that throw out various 2026 date (such as April 2026 or maybe November) but these are unverified, OR influenced by fans wanting the show to continue sooner than what is indicated by the creators themselves.
Many Reddit discussions mention the cast's commitment to other projects (such as Park Ji-hoon having other commitments and also serving in the military) means that all of this could move things back into 2027.
If the audience (fans) continue to support the show and it is successful enough, then the creators are interested in making season 3 up to Si-eun's (Jisoo) graduation from high school/senior year.
Weak Hero Class 3: Cast updates
No official casting announcements for Class 3 exist yet. Expected returning cast based on Class 2 and creator/actor comments includes:
- Park Ji-hoon as Yeon Si-eun (the brilliant, physically "weak" but strategically fierce protagonist) - strongly expected to reprise.
- Ryeoun as Park Hu-min (Baku).
- Choi Min-young as Seo Jun-tae.
- Lee Min-jae as Go Hyeon-tak (Gotak).
- Yoo Su-bin as Choi Hyo-man and others like Bae Na-ra and Lee Jun-young (Geum Seong-jae) are likely involved depending on the story.
Choi Hyun-wook (Ahn Su-ho from Class 1) appeared in a Class 2 cameo; his return would depend on the plot. Mentions of "Lee Yeon" in some fan videos appear to be speculative or tied to new characters, not confirmed.
Actors have shown enthusiasm: Park Ji-hoon and Choi Min-young discussed potential arcs in interviews, indicating openness to returning.
Weak Hero Class 3: What to expect next
The series is based on the Seopass and Razen webtoon Weak Hero, featuring primarily school-based stories of violence and bullying (the focus of the story), but also some themes of friendship and psychological warfare or trauma. In terms of the story arc, Season 2 of Class concludes with the protagonists taking down a large bullying syndicate called "The Union", with the last scene leading into the next group of threats including a big bad dude who wants to take over.
If Class 3, is ever to be made then,
Si-eun's senior year at Eunjang High School or possibly beyond with increasing stakes leading up to graduation.
Class 3 has the potential to go deeper into subjects like trauma, loyalty, resilience, and the corrupt systems that allow for school violence to exist. Each actor has pitched an idea for his character; Choi Min-young's idea for Seo Jun-tae is that he would evolve further in terms of protecting his friends now that he has broken out of his shell. Park Ji-hoon believes that Si-eun could be shown to become very dark if he lost his friends or was to have moral conflicts, thereby flipping his personality from being strictly about justice.
The tone of the show should remain similar to what it has been thus far: intense, well choreographed fight scenes, but with a lot of emotional/psychological depth. The series will also continue to keep faithful to its webtoon's later arcs by making adjustments for the adaptation to television.
Chances for renewal (due to the series' popularity), are very good according to media sources; however there have been no official statements made yet regarding renewal status. Fans of the series (and those who have yet to see any of the seasons) should stay tuned for official announcements by Netflix or the production studio within the upcoming months. In the meantime, fans should rewatch Class 1 and Class 2 for their compelling plots, fight choreography and storytelling.
