Thousands of customers of Singtel, Singapore's largest telecommunications provider, faced mobile network disruptions on Monday morning ( March 16, 2026).
The outage affected voice calls, mobile data, and other services, causing widespread inconvenience for users across the country.
According to outage monitoring platform Downdetector, reports of problems with Singtel services surged rapidly during the morning hours. By around 10:51 AM, more than 5,200 users had reported connectivity issues, indicating a large-scale disruption affecting mobile network access.
What Happened to Singtel's Network?
The telecommunications company acknowledged the issue shortly after reports began surfacing. In a public statement posted on social media, Singtel said that some customers were experiencing problems with their mobile services and confirmed that its engineers were investigating the situation.
Users reported difficulties making calls, accessing mobile data, and completing digital transactions. Some customers said they were unable to order food, access online work tools, or make payments through mobile apps due to the network outage.
Singtel also advised affected customers to restart their devicesas a potential temporary solution while the technical team continued working to restore normal connectivity.
Why Singtel Is Down Today
The outage was caused by a technical network issue currently under investigation, according to Singtel. The telecommunications company confirmed that some of its mobile customers were experiencing connectivity problems and said its engineers were working to identify the root cause and restore services.
While the exact technical reason has not yet been publicly confirmed, the company indicated that the disruption was linked to network connectivity issues within its mobile infrastructure, which prevented normal access to voice and data services.
Singtel's Response
Singtel apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and assured users that its engineers were actively investigating the cause of the outage. The company said updates would be provided once more information became available and as services were gradually restored.
