Fans of Ryan Murphy's The Beauty series have been waiting with bated breath for its season 2 release. Set in a dystopian universe, the premise centers around how people become obsessed with the idea of being perfect and the lengths they will go to in order to achieve that perfection.
The story is about a lethal beauty enhancement drug that has been made available to every person on earth. Season 2 will include even more horrifying transformations, high-stakes investigations, crazy chain reactions, and a larger scale of chaos than we experienced during the season finale of season 1, which took place in March 2026.
The Beauty Season 2: Current Status
The Beauty has yet to be officially renewed or canceled for season 2 as of March 2026. Created by Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, this series is a sci-fi-based body horror program that premiered on FX and streamed via Hulu on January 21, 2026, and ran its first season of 10 episodes till March 4, 2026.
Various outlets - such as Yahoo Entertainment, TV Insider, etc. - have revealed that FX has made no statement regarding whether or not they will do the second season of The Beauty. With the series not positioned as a limited or anthological series, FX could renew the series if there is enough viewership, reception/demo metrics, and financial performance.
At the end of the first season of The Beauty, the show is set up to expand and explore the implications socially and physically if "The Beauty" (the treatment/drug that genetically modifies and is sexually transmitted) becomes widely available. Evan Peters (who plays FBI agent Cooper Madsen) has stated in interviews that he liked the way season 1 concluded, and that there are a plethora of storylines to fully explore if a second season were produced, and that he would be interested in doing so if the show were to be picked up by FX.
As of this writing, neither FX nor the production team has issued a release date for the next season, cast announcements, etc. Similar shows often take weeks or months to decide whether or not they will continue.
