IKEA India has unveiled an ambitious growth strategy, targeting 30 stores across the country by 2030 as it accelerates its expansion through a mix of large, medium and smaller-format outlets.
The company believes compact city stores will help it enter new markets faster while requiring lower real estate investments.
Alongside expanding its physical footprint, IKEA plans to quadruple its India revenue by 2030, increase local sourcing to 50%, and significantly expand its retail workforce. The strategy reflects the company's long-term commitment to one of its fastest-growing global markets.
The retailer is also strengthening its omnichannel presence by combining physical stores with e-commerce, enabling customers to access IKEA products across more cities. Smaller-format stores are expected to play a key role in bringing the brand closer to urban consumers while complementing its larger experience centres.
With aggressive store expansion, increased localisation and continued investment, IKEA is positioning India as a strategic growth market, reinforcing its confidence in the country's rising demand for modern home furnishing solutions.
