Bengaluru: The Parikrma Champions League, one of India’s most respected grassroots football platforms, is returning this month with a powerful roster of sixteen U-16 school teams, including participants from Goa, Udaipur and Odisha. The tournament, now in its 13th year, continues its mission of creating equal opportunities for young footballers from varied backgrounds.
Launched in 2011, the Parikrma Champions League has steadily evolved from a modest school-level competition into a nationally recognised tournament.
At a press conference held earlier today, the tournament’s official jersey and the Equality Cup were unveiled by Aslam Khan, Deputy General Secretary of KSFA. Coaches from all participating schools attended the launch and collectively took the Coaches’ Pledge, reaffirming their dedication to nurturing young talent with integrity and sportsmanship.
Speaking at the event, Aslam Khan said, “I have seen this tournament grow steadily over the past twelve years. These kinds of consistent grassroots efforts are essential to make football a truly inclusive sport, ensuring that new talent has meaningful platforms and recognition.”
Shukla Bose, Founder of Parikrma Humanity Foundation, emphasised the deeper purpose behind the league. “Through this platform, we aim to keep the passion for this much-loved sport alive. At the same time, we want to underscore the importance of sports in schools and the value of equality—reflected in the very name of our trophy, the Equality Cup.”
With its expanding reach and continued focus on inclusion, the Parikrma Champions League stands poised to once again spotlight young talent and reinforce the spirit of equal opportunity in Indian football.
