Arvind Kejriwal urges PM Modi to roll back E20 fuel programme

Arvind Kejriwal urges PM Modi to roll back E20 fuel programme

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the Centre to roll back the 20 per cent ethanol-blended petrol (E20) programme, claiming it has raised concerns over vehicle mileage.

In a video message posted on X, Kejriwal said many vehicle owners were reporting a decline in fuel efficiency after switching to E20 petrol, The Hindu reported.

He also referred to the Centre’s submission before the Supreme Court on June 30, stating that the Attorney General had described the E20 fuel programme as “an experiment” and indicated that its future course would depend on the outcome of the initiative.

Citing these developments, the AAP leader urged the Prime Minister to reconsider the programme and withdraw the rollout of E20 petrol.
