Avadh Sugar & Energy Limited reported a net profit of Rs 0.23 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with a net loss of Rs 8.41 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, according to its unaudited financial results.
The Board of Directors approved the results at a meeting held on August 3, 2026, pursuant to Regulation 30 and 33 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the company said in a filing to the BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Revenue from operations for the quarter stood at Rs 779.25 crore, up from Rs 716.61 crore in the year-ago quarter, the filing showed. Profit before tax came in at Rs 0.37 crore, against a loss of Rs 12.60 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total expenses rose to Rs 780.68 crore from Rs 729.50 crore.
Segment-wise, revenue from the sugar business rose to Rs 662.20 crore from Rs 587.61 crore a year earlier, while segment profit more than doubled to Rs 9.18 crore from Rs 4.26 crore. The distillery segment posted revenue of Rs 157.41 crore, down from Rs 165.07 crore, though its segment profit improved to Rs 20.75 crore from Rs 17.91 crore. The co-generation segment reported a loss of Rs 3.57 crore, broadly unchanged from a loss of Rs 3.55 crore in the year-ago quarter, on lower revenue of Rs 15.11 crore against Rs 19.85 crore.
Basic and diluted earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 0.12, against a loss per share of Rs 4.20 in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the results showed.
Sequentially, profit before tax fell sharply from Rs 85.26 crore in the March 2026 quarter. The company noted in its filing that sugar is a seasonal industry, with crushing normally concentrated between November and May while sales are spread through the year, causing performance to vary quarter to quarter.
Statutory auditors S.R. Batliboi & Co. LLP reviewed the results and stated that nothing had come to their attention indicating any material misstatement or non-compliance with listing regulations.
Total segment assets stood at Rs 2,224.24 crore as of June 30, 2026, while total segment liabilities were Rs 1,102.23 crore.
