Sugar Prices Hold Steady Amid Tight Supply Outlook
Domestic sugar prices witnessed a steady trend for the second consecutive session, supported by continued buying interest even at elevated price levels.
Market sentiment remained firm amid concerns over tightening domestic supplies and lower carryover stocks, reducing the likelihood of any sharp correction during the remainder of the season.
In North India, M-grade sugar prices in Muzaffarnagar were quoted at ₹4,080-₹4,200 per quintal, largely unchanged from the previous session. Similarly, in Maharashtra, S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur were reported at ₹3,840-₹3,870 per quintal, reflecting a stable market trend.
Overall, the domestic sugar market is expected to remain firm in the near term. Tight supply conditions, lower carryover stock expectations, and sustained demand are likely to keep prices supported.
