Daily Sugar Market Update By Vizzie - 08/09/2026

Domestic Market

Domestic sugar prices continue to witness a mixed trend

Domestic sugar prices witnessed a mixed trend, with prices in Maharashtra increasing by around ₹150-200 per quintal, while Uttar Pradesh prices eased by approximately ₹50 per quintal.

Prices in Uttar Pradesh remained under pressure amid government measures aimed at keeping retail sugar prices under control. Meanwhile, the price spread between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh has narrowed, following the recent recovery in Maharashtra prices.

Kolhapur S-grade sugar is currently quoted at around ₹4,700-4,800 per quintal, compared with ₹4,950-5,050 per quintal for M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar. The spread between the two markets currently stands at around ₹250 per quintal, significantly lower than the wider spread seen earlier.
