Sugar Prices Trade Steady to Firm Amid Tight Supply Concerns
Sugar prices traded on a steady-to-firm note across major domestic markets today.
Prices in Maharashtra and Karnataka were reported higher by around ₹10 per quintal. Despite the government's export restrictions aimed at improving local availability, tightening domestic supplies continued to support market sentiment.
In North India, M-grade sugar prices in Muzaffarnagar were quoted at ₹4,080-₹4,140 per quintal, reflecting a largely stable market trend. Meanwhile, S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur were reported at ₹3,800-₹3,840 per quintal, up by around ₹10 per quintal from the previous session.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $443.20 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 15.02 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 478-2 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.95000s.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 96.596 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.0069 Crude WTI traded at $103.35 a barrel. Sensex closed 114.19 points down at 75,200.85 whereas Nifty closed 31.95 points lower at 23,618.00
