Karachi: In a step aimed at improving sugarcane productivity, Sharif Group has entered into a partnership with Brazil's Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira (CTC) to bring advanced farming technologies to Pakistan.
The agreement, formalised through a memorandum of understanding, will focus on testing new sugarcane varieties that offer higher yields and better resistance to diseases. The collaboration will also work on building local research facilities and developing tools to help farmers manage crops more effectively, The News Pakistan reported.
CTC, known globally for its work in sugarcane research and biotechnology, will provide technical support, including training programmes and knowledge sharing as part of the partnership.
