Baraut: A sugar mill in Baraut organised a programme on Friday to distribute modern farm equipment to sugarcane growers, aiming to support better yields and improve farm income.

The event was held at the Malakpur unit of SBEC Sugar Limited, where 13 farmers from nearby villages were provided tools such as trench openers, ratoon managers and chisel ploughs, Bhaskar reported.

Officials present at the programme said the use of modern equipment would help increase sugarcane production while lowering cultivation costs. They also urged farmers to adopt improved farming methods to make agriculture more profitable.

Farmers from several villages, including Bawli, Malakpur, Sisauli, Chhaprauli, Basauli, Kakore Kala, Jivana, Luhari and Kotana, benefited from the initiative.

Farmers welcomed the move, saying it would help improve productivity and ease farm operations. The mill management said such efforts would continue under its ongoing sugarcane development programme.
