The Sugar, Power and Ethanol (SPE) division of Zuari Industries Limited has recorded its highest-ever sugarcane crushing in FY26, processing 15.97 million quintals, marginally higher than 15.72 million quintals in the previous fiscal, Construction World reported.
The improved performance was driven by an early start to the crushing season, better operational efficiency, and higher cane availability across its catchment areas. The achievement marks a new high for the division's seasonal throughput.
The company's managing director said the performance reflects sustained improvements in operations and stronger discipline across the division, adding that the focus will remain on maintaining execution standards going forward.
The executive director and unit head attributed the gains to deeper engagement with farmers and improved field practices, which helped enhance cane yields. Initiatives such as agronomy support and the adoption of improved crop varieties were also highlighted as key factors in strengthening supply.
Operationally, higher capacity utilisation and improved coordination in mill scheduling helped reduce downtime and optimise crushing operations during the season.
The division plans to continue crushing operations into April, which is expected to provide an early momentum for FY27 and potentially improve overall output. The move is also seen as a step toward better management of seasonal operations.
Zuari Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Adventz Group, operates across multiple sectors including sugar, power, ethanol, engineering, real estate and services.
