UN Backs Priyanka Chopra on her remark on Indian Army
Pee Cee has been often brought into one controversy to the other and the recent one was due to her personal remark on the Indian army. She tweeted about the Indian Amry saluting them on the Microblogging site saying Jai Hindi Indian Armed Forces by posting a National Flad of India with a Namaste Icon. This was done after the Indian Government revoked the 370 Article in Jammu and Kashmir making it a Union Terrority and separating it from Laddakh.
Many started objecting as to how the lady can have her views even though she happens to be the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF particularly from the people of Pakistan in the US. Now, the UN has come forward in support of the Quantico Actress saying that Pee Cee was just giving her personal view and not talking on the behalf of the UN as its ambassador for peace. The UN Spokesperson said that she has the right to express her views about her country.
She has also got the support from her fans back in India and other places. She also had expressed her views after the Balakot Strike carried out by the Indian Army to avenge the attack. For her recent comment, the Shireen Mazari the Human Rights Minister has written to the UNICEF Executive Director, Henrietta Fore asking her removal as the Goodwill Ambassador. She accused her comments to be jingoism and support for the Indian Army. Talking about her work, she is now gearing up for her next film The Sky is Pink with Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Waseem.
