Candidate Caught Cheating in PSI Exam in Surat, Used Mobile Phone to Search Answers on Google

A serious case of malpractice has emerged during the PSI (Police Sub-Inspector) recruitment examination held on Sunday in the Amroli area of Surat , raising major concerns over security arrangements at examination centres.

According to officials, a candidate identified as Shivam Ramkumar Yadav was caught red-handed while cheating during the exam at Madhuvan International School in Amroli. Despite strict checking measures, including metal detectors and physical frisking, the candidate allegedly managed to sneak a mobile phone into the examination hall by hiding it near his seating area.

During the examination, he was reportedly using the mobile phone to search for answers on Google. The suspicious activity was noticed by an exam supervisor, who immediately intervened and confiscated the device. The candidate was stopped from continuing the exam on the spot.

The incident has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of security protocols at the exam centre. Authorities are now probing how the candidate managed to bypass multiple layers of checking and whether there was any negligence or involvement of staff.

Following the incident, the examination authorities alerted the police, and a case has been registered against the accused at the Surat Cyber Crime Police Station for using prohibited electronic devices and engaging in exam malpractice. Officials are also investigating whether the candidate received external assistance or if there was a larger network involved.
