How much monthly pension will Ajinkya Rahane receive after his retirement from cricket?

Former Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane recently called time on his career from all formats of cricket on Thursday. The 38-year-old last played for the national side in 2023 in the Test match against West Indies before being dropped.

The batter was mostly active in domestic cricket for Mumbai and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. Rahane, as per the revised guidelines, will earn INR 70,000 per month as pension after his retirement. It is to be noted that the BCCI can stop those payments on a temporary basis if the former batter takes up any role within the Board either as an administrator or a coach. As of now, it isn’t clear what the former Indian star intends to do post his retirement from the game.

Former India cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly had brought these reforms during the course of his tenure as the board president. Ganguly had stated that it was important to take care of the well-being of former players.
