The New Zealand cricket team has shared an update on all-rounder Rachin Ravindra after he suffered a head injury during the Pakistan tri-series.
Following the impact, Rachin began bleeding heavily and was immediately attended to by the team’s medical staff before being taken off the field. In their update, New Zealand confirmed that the cut on his head had been treated and reassured that he was otherwise in good condition.
"Ravindra was forced from the field after being struck in the forehead by the ball while attempting a catch in the 38th over. He sustained a laceration to the forehead, which has been addressed and treated at the ground, but he is otherwise well."
"He came through his first HIA (Head Injury Assessment) well and will continue to be monitored under HIA processes," New Zealand Cricket’s statement said on Sunday, 10 February.

Glenn Phillips Calls Ravindra's Injury ‘Terrifying’
New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips, who earned Player of the Match honors for his century against Pakistan on Saturday, called the incident "terrifying" but assured fans that Ravindra was recovering well.
"He lost the ball in the lights, and unfortunately, the ball won that situation this time," Phillips said. "But he's been conscious the whole time, which is fantastic. He's being monitored, and I'm sure he'll be raring to go as soon as possible," Phillips said after the match.
This was New Zealand's second injury setback in the tri-series. Earlier, fast bowler Lockie Ferguson was sidelined from the tournament against Pakistan and South Africa after suffering a hamstring injury during the ILT20.
Despite Rachin Ravindra’s injury, New Zealand defeated Pakistan, powered by Glenn Phillips’ unbeaten 106* off 74. They posted 330/6, while Pakistan fell short at 252, with Santner and Henry taking three wickets each.
