Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian left arm spinner and Varun Chakravarthy, the mystery spinner of India landed in Chennai early in the morning.
The spinner duo are back in India from Dubai after winning the Champions Trophy (CT) 2025. Jadeja and Chakravarthy both played an important role in the win against New Zealand on Sunday. Chakravarthy will go and join the KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) camp while Jadeja will join the CSK (Chennai Super Kings) camp.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is going to start in just 13 days. The first match will be played on March 22, 2025, between KKR and RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore). Jadeja will stay in Chennai for the camp. Chakravarthy will likely fly to Kolkata directly for the KKR camp.
Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja are two of the best white ball spinners in India currently. Both players were retained by their respective IPL teams ahead of the auctions.
Ravindra Jadeja and Varun Chakravarthy Go Big in IPL
Varun Chakravarthy was retained by KKR for IPL 2025 for Rs 12 crore. Ravindra Jadeja was retained by CSK for Rs 18 crore. Both spinners are being paid top bucks for the experience they bring to their respective teams. Jadeja will be key for CSK to win in the IPL 2025, and the same goes for Chakravarthy.
Jadeja is likely to feature in the first IPL match of the season for CSK on March 23 against Mumbai Indians (MI). The match will be played in Chennai and it will be an important match for both teams to get momentum in the season. In 2024, Mumbai Indians couldn’t do much as it finished last at the table, losing 10 out of its 14 matches. MI would certainly like to forget the season and move on as 2025 presents an opportunity to win the cup.
