The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has roped in former Saurashtra cricketer Sitanshu Kotak as the batting coach for the upcoming limited-overs series against England. India will host England for five T20Is and three ODIs, starting January 22 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The Indian squad, led by head coach Gautam Gambhir, will assemble in Kolkata on January 18 for a three-day preparatory camp. Kotak, known for his technical expertise and extensive experience as India A's batting coach, is expected to strengthen the team's batting approach.

Kotak enjoyed an illustrious domestic career with Saurashtra, amassing over 8,000 runs in First-Class cricket and maintaining a List A average of 42.33. "What was your coaching staff doing? Batting mein koi dum nahi tha (The batting lacked punch)," he remarked. Gavaskar emphasized the importance of proactive coaching, urging for better preparation ahead of critical series.
