Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, wife of Team India star Virat Kohli, was present at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium for the 2025 Champions Trophy final against New Zealand on Sunday, March 9. During the match, her animated reaction to Shreyas Iyer dropping a catch quickly went viral on social media.
The moment occurred in the eighth over after New Zealand opted to bat first. Opener Rachin Ravindra got a lucky break when Iyer failed to grab a catch at the deep midwicket boundary off Varun Chakaravarthy's bowling.
On the first ball of the over, Ravindra attempted a slog-sweep but mistimed it, resulting in a top-edge. Iyer covered significant ground but couldn't hold on to the difficult chance. Anushka, visibly disappointed by the missed opportunity, was seen placing her hand on her face in frustration.

Notably, this was Ravindra’s second lifeline in the match. Earlier, in the seventh over, pacer Mohammad Shami missed a caught-and-bowled opportunity against the in-form batter. However, Ravindra’s luck ran out in the 11th over when left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him for 37.

Anushka Sharma was present in the stands for the 2025 Champions Trophy final, supporting her husband Virat Kohli and Team India. As the Indian team took the field after being asked to bowl first, Kohli and Anushka were spotted exchanging waves.
India have remained unbeaten in the tournament, securing victories over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the group stage before defeating Australia in the semifinal. Kohli has been in excellent form, emerging as India’s top run-scorer in the tournament with 217 runs in four innings at an impressive average of 72.33.
