Ishan Kishan and Axar Patel played key roles in India's continued dominance over New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2026 final. Kishan took two sharp catches, while Axar bowled out Finn Allen and Glenn Phillips cheaply. At the moment, New Zealand were struggling at 103/5 after 11 overs, with Daryl Mitchell and captain Mitchell Santner at the crease.

Batting first, India posted a huge total of 255/5 in 20 overs. Sanju Samson was in sensational form, scoring 89 off 46 balls with eight sixes and five fours. Abhishek Sharma (52 off 21) and Ishan Kishan (54 off 25) also played brilliant knocks. Shivam Dube finished aggressively with an unbeaten 26 off 8 balls, including two sixes and three fours.

For New Zealand, James Neesham took three wickets but went for 24 runs in his last over, while Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry picked up one wicket each. India now aim to become the first team to win the T20 World Cup three times. Suryakumar Yadav could also join Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni in the elite list of captains to win an ICC title.
