The landmark moment occurred in the 34th over of New Zealand’s innings, bowled by right-arm pacer Junior Dala. On 99, Williamson guided the ball to deep point to complete his hundred. He achieved the feat in just 72 deliveries, following up his composed 58 against Pakistan in the previous match with a well-crafted ton.

The 34-year-old last reached an ODI century during the 2019 World Cup match against the West Indies at Old Trafford in Manchester. He played a remarkable knock of 148 runs, guiding New Zealand to a narrow five-run victory in a thrilling encounter.

Conway, who came into the XI in place of the injured Rachin Ravindra, fell just three runs short of a well-earned century as Junior Dala dismissed him. Earlier, New Zealand opted to field first after winning the toss.
For South Africa, ODI debutant Matthew Breetzke made a memorable impact with a stunning 150, while Wiaan Mulder contributed a composed 64 off 60 balls, helping their side post 304/6 in 50 overs.
