Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant suffered an unfortunate run-out during their IPL 2026 opener against Delhi Capitals at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, April 1. The wicketkeeper-batter was caught backing up too far at the non-striker's end and was dismissed for just seven runs off nine balls, with LSG losing their first wicket at a score of 19. 

<p style="margin-top: 0px;" >His move up the batting order thus failed to make an impact. The incident occurred in the third over of the innings. Mukesh Kumar delivered a good-length ball, which Mitchell Marshattempted to drive straight. However, the bowler got a fingertip deflection onto the ball, which then struck the stumps. </p><p>Pant, well outside his crease, had no time to recover and was run out.
