Team India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson was seen sitting alone on the podium while the team celebrated their victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final.

The Men in Blue secured a commanding 96-run win against New Zealand in the title clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8.

Meanwhile, a video circulating widely on social media shows Samson inviting presenter Harsha Bhogle to sit beside him on the stage. Bhogle accepted the gesture, and the two were later seen chatting with each other. Watch the video here:

Sanju Samson was named Player of the Tournament in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Despite playing only five matches, he ended the tournament as the third-highest run-scorer, amassing 321 runs in five innings at a remarkable strike rate of 199.37.

The 31-year-old delivered a match-winning performance in the final, scoring 89 off 46 balls. He also shared a crucial 98-run opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma, laying a strong platform for a massive total. India eventually posted 255/5 in 20 overs, the highest score ever recorded in a T20 World Cup final.

Ishan Kishan (54 off 25), Abhishek Sharma (52 off 21), and Shivam Dube (26* off 8) also made valuable contributions with the bat. With the ball, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel starred by taking four and three wickets respectively, as India bowled out New Zealand for 159 in 19 overs.
