India Unable To Capitalize On Strong Start With Explosive Finish

Earlier in the match, after being put in to bat, India got off to a strong start courtesy of an excellent opening stand between Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana. The duo stitched together 155 runs off 147 deliveries for the first wicket. Mandhana played a fluent knock of 80 from 66 balls, while Rawal compiled a steady 75 off 96 deliveries.

Harleen Deol contributed 38 off 42 balls, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur added a quick 22 off 17. At 287/4 after 42 overs, India looked well on track for a big total, with Richa Ghosh (27) and Jemimah Rodrigues (25) aiming to launch a final-overs assault. However, both fell while trying to accelerate, finishing with 32 off 22 balls and 33 off 21 respectively.

In the closing stages, Amanjot Kaur scored 16, while Deepti Sharma was dismissed for just one, as India suffered a late collapse. The team went from a commanding 287/4 to being bowled out for 330 in 48.5 overs, falling short of utilizing their full 50 overs. For Australia, Annabel Sutherland was exceptional with the ball, returning figures of 5/40 from 9.5 overs.
