Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh's humorous videos have become a major hit on social media. However, his first IPL captain, KL Rahul, shared that the left-arm seamer was quite reserved during his debut season with Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Rahul revealed that in Arshdeep's early days, he was so shy that he barely spoke a couple of words to him.

The former PBKS skipper added that things have completely changed now, as he often finds himself asking Arshdeep and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi to keep quiet. Speaking on the YouTube show '2 Sloggers', Rahul said:

"He is just out of control sometimes. I saw him as an 18-year-old boy when he came to Punjab. I captained him for two-three years. So, there is that understanding, and I can see him as a little brother. He didn’t even speak two words when he came. Maybe he was talkative with his group, but with us, he and Ravi Bishnoi were very quiet."

“I was maybe 26 or 27. So, in the bus I used to see and wonder, they have played U19 but don’t have any attitude. They don’t even speak; they are so underconfident. Little did I know. Next saal jo bomb foota hai na (the bomb exploded in such a way next year), they have not stopped since. Till now, I have to beg them to shut up.”

KL Rahul Admits 'Mindset Gap' While Speaking About Arshdeep Singh's Fun-Loving Nature

KL Rahul lauded Arshdeep Singh, describing him as a wonderful person. He mentioned that many of the younger players in the Indian team share a cheerful and light-hearted attitude similar to Arshdeep's. In contrast, Rahul noted that both he and senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah have personalities that differ significantly from Arshdeep's lively nature. The 33-year-old added in the same video:

"Arshdeep is a great guy; he is too good. All the youngsters are like Arshdeep only, and then there is me and Bumrah. I can’t feel the age gap, but there is definitely a mindset gap.”
