India pacer Mohammed Shami has become the talk of the town after his antics on social media. The premier fast bowler liked the tweet trolling Hardik Pandya for missing the ICC World Cup 2023 and staying fit for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Hardik Pandya midway during the ICC World Cup 2023 got injured. He twisted his ankle during the game against Bangladesh and was ruled out of the tournament. The all-rounder since then has been out of the action and worked hard for his fitness to make a comeback in the IPL 2024.
A Twitter user on Wednesday (13th March) praised Mohammed Shami for showing immense commitment to the team during the World Cup despite battling the injury. The fan also lashed out at Hardik Pandya for faking injury in the mega event to be fit for the IPL.

Mohammed Shami bowled magnificently well in the tournament and was one of the main reasons why India reached the final without losing a single game. He looked unplayable in the tournament as he bowled impeccable lines and lengths and troubled the opposition batters with his lethal bowling.
Mohammed Shami ended ICC World Cup 2023 as the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. He picked 24 wickets in the tournament despite missing the first few games due to the team combination. His best came in the semi-final against New Zealand, where he took a seven-fer at the Wankhede Stadium.
Mohammed Shami undergoes ankle surgery; ruled out of the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup 2024
Mohammed Shami recently underwent ankle surgery and has returned back to India. After the World Cup 2023, he missed a lot of cricket for the team in the Test series against South Africa as well as England. The fast bowler also recently provided an update about his injury.
He revealed that the stitches on the ankle have been removed and he will be eager for his road his recovery. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:
'Hello everyone! I wanted to provide an update on my recovery progress. It has been 15 days since my surgery, and I recently had my stitches removed. I am thankful for the advancements I have achieved and looking forward to the next stage of my healing journey.'
Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup 2024. The fast bowler will be making a comeback in the Test series against Bangladesh, later this year. His absence will be a huge blow for India and Gujarat Titans.
