After getting a bit of a let down in the Test series vs Bangladesh, Pakistan are now ready for a new sort of challenge at home, this time against Australia.
The three match ODI series starts on May 30, and it should give both teams some proper momentum going into the 2027 ODI World Cup, or at least that’s the general idea, right?
Pakistan’s captain for the ODI set up will be Shaheen Shah Afridi, while Australia will be led by Josh Inglis. It’s expected to matter a lot for both sides as they try to lock in dependable ODI combinations for the next stretch and beyond.
Pakistan vs Australia ODI Series Schedule
Pakistan and Australia will play three ODI fixtures between May 30 and June 4. These games are scheduled across Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the venues split up in a way that keeps things interesting.
| Match | Date | Local Time | IST | Venue |
| PAK vs AUS 1st ODI | May 30 | 5:00 PM | 4:30 PM | Rawalpindi |
| PAK vs AUS 2nd ODI | June 2 | 5:00 PM | 4:30 PM | Lahore |
| PAK vs AUS 3rd ODI | June 4 | 5:00 PM | 4:30 PM | Lahore |
Josh Inglis To Lead Australia
Australia are heading into this series without a few of their senior names. Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and Mitchell Marsh are not part of the tour. Marsh, in particular, was ruled out after picking up an ankle issue during IPL 2026.
With those changes, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has been handed the captaincy for the ODI side. Inglis has also worn the armband before, he captained Australia once earlier against Pakistan back in 2024.
Also, Australia have added Cooper Connolly to the squad following strong showings in IPL 2026 for Punjab Kings. He came in for Mitchell Marsh in the final selection.
Pakistan Bring Back Senior Players
For Pakistan, the ODI squad includes a lot more experience than you might expect. Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf have all returned to the setup.
Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the team, while Salman Ali Agha is set as vice-captain. There are also some newer or younger options included, like Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir.
The hope from the team management is that the blend of seasoned players, along with the fresher energy, can push Pakistan to perform well on home soil.
Venues For The ODI Series
The series is set to be played in two major cricket grounds in Pakistan. The opening ODI will be at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and the other two matches will move to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Both venues have hosted plenty of international cricket in recent times, so expectations are that the stands will be lively, especially with Australia coming over.
Live Streaming And Telecast Details
In India, there will be no live telecast or live streaming for the Pakistan vs Australia ODI series.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, fans can catch the action on PTV Sports, and also via PCB Live. The series is expected to draw solid attention as both teams kick off yet another chapter on their way toward the 2027 ODI World Cup.
